I grew up in town, spent my summers as a kid skateboarding and keeping JPD on their toes. Graduated Jamestown Schools class of '97 and NKHS class of 2001.Â

I came back home from Boston after college and my wife Heather and I have been raising our 3 boys on Schooner Ave ever since.Â

I have been active in the community over the years as a member of the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department, supporting Troop 1 as my son made his way through to Eagle Scout, and most recently as a member of the Planning Commission working on the rewrite of the Comprehensive Plan. We have seen Jamestown transform over the last 30 years from the sleepy little town we all remember, and I want to help ensure there is a place here for the next generation to enjoy like we did.Â

Firefighter for the City of NewportÂ
I began my career with the City of Newport Fire Department in 2014. I would never have had a chance to succeed if not for the excellent training and support I received as a member of the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department for years prior. Jamestown maintains one of the strongest volunteer FD's in the country and we as a community need to support our public safety departments to ensure they continue to be in a position to be there when we need them.

I am in my second term as the elected President of the labor union representing approx 100 line and staff personnel of the Fire Department of the City of Newport. Responsible for contract negotiations, arbitration representation, and various other functions of a modern labor union. Previously served as the Treasurer for 1.5 years and an At-Large board member for 3 years prior.

In addition to my duties as President, I also sit as the Executive Board Chair of the RI State Association of Firefighters. RISAFF is a state level organization representing career firefighters throughout RI through lobbying, and support for interest and grievance arbitration. I have also recently been appointed by Gov. McKee to sit on the RI Fire Education and Training Advisory Committee.Â
